Explaining dental implants and how they work
- Last up to 30 years
- Take up to 3 appointments
- 80-90% of natural bite force restored
- Cost from £2,500
Dental implants don’t just replace the gap cosmetically, unlike traditional treatments for tooth loss like dentures and bridges.
They use tiny titanium posts surgically placed into your jawbone to serve as artificial tooth roots, providing the most stable, secure, and long-lasting restoration that’s the closest replica of natural teeth.
The dental implants then attach to a connector that holds the new tooth, bridge or denture in place. For example, one implant can replace up to two teeth in a row, and only four implants are needed to replace a full set.
DENTAL IMPLANT COST
Dental implants cost from £2,500 (current £500 discount) and are available using dental finance (0% up to 6 months and interest-bearing terms up to 60 months).

The dental implant procedure
It will typically take around three appointments over three months to complete your dental implant treatment. To cover the cost of your treatment, you can pay monthly (interest-free over six months).
- Planning Stage: Begin with a detailed assessment with 3D scanning to examine bone density, plan precise placement, and confirm your suitability for treatment.
- Surgery Stage: Dr Nagpal carefully positions the implant into the jaw using guided techniques for precision and accuracy under local anaesthetic chairside.
- Healing Stage: Over a period of 3 months, the implant bonds naturally with the bone, creating a stable foundation for your long-term prosthetic.
- Prosthetic Stage: After osseointegration, your custom-made crown, bridge or denture is fitted. All-on-4 uses fixed temporary teeth the same day as surgery.
EXCELLENT Based on 470 reviews Posted on Herbert HallTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was just so wonderful to be admitted as a result of scare I endured in my back teeth. I am now a much happier bunny even though I have to take anti-biotics as a result.Posted on Mike RoseTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thank you xPosted on Mr EnglefieldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had to have a tooth replaced with an implant a couple of years ago, was very impressed with the professionalism of Mahesh and his team, the procedure was smooth and stress free. Just had a recent check up and again very impressed, from the customer service team to the hygienist no-one here seems to disappoint, thank you Smiles StudioPosted on erika mooreTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a hygienist appointment at this dental surgery and for the first time in my life, I wasn’t scared. I didn’t feel any discomfort at all during the treatment, which honestly felt unbelievable to me. I’ve always been extremely anxious about visiting the dentist due to a bad experience many years ago, long before I joined this practice. That fear stayed with me for years. But from the moment I walked in, I felt reassured and cared for. The hygienist was so gentle, patient, and understanding, constantly making sure I was comfortable. This is genuinely the first time I can say I’m actually looking forward to coming back to see the hygienist. That’s something I never thought I would say! Thank you for completely changing my experience and restoring my confidence in dental visits. Thank you Shanaka Nilanka :)

Guide to dental implants
Am I suitable for dental implants?
Most people are generally suitable candidates for dental implants. But if you’ve ignored tooth loss for some time, you might have a breakdown of bone in the jaw, which we might have to rebuild prior to traditional placement. An initial full assessment is carried out to determine whether you qualify for implants, including 3D scanning to assess bone density.
How long do dental implants last?
Designed to be a long-term solution, dental implants can last for decades with proper care and regular check-ups.
Does the treatment hurt?
Dental implant placement is typically reported as non-painful, with treatment performed under local anaesthetic. Some discomfort can be expected afterwards, similar to what an extraction feels like.
How long does the process take?
Treatment typically takes around 3 months, allowing time for the implant to heal and bond with the bone.
Will I be without teeth during treatment?
Temporary teeth can usually be provided for suitable candidates using some types of implants.
How much do dental implants cost?
Dental implants at our practices in Lymington and Chandler’s Ford cost from £3,000. We’re currently running a promotion for patients to save £500, meaning you’ll only pay £2,500 for a limited time only. 0% finance is also available.
How do I care for dental implants?
You care for implants just like natural teeth with regular brushing, flossing and routine dental visits.
