How we stabilise your dentures
The process for securing dentures at The Smiles Studio:
- Assessment & 3D planning: Your treatment begins with a detailed implant assessment, where Dr Nagpal will assess your tooth loss and current prosthetic, gums and bite before using 3D CBCT imaging to assess the height, width and quality of your available jawbone.
- Implant placement: Dr Nagpal carefully positions the titanium implants within the planned areas of your jaw. Treatment is completed under local anaesthetic, with dental sedation available for patients who are particularly nervous. All-on-4 cases can be immediately loaded.
- Healing: The implants are allowed time to integrate naturally with the surrounding jawbone. This process, known as osseointegration, typically takes around three months before the implants are ready to provide long-term support for your denture.
- Your stabilised denture: Once healing is complete, attachments are fitted to the implants, and your final custom denture is connected. It securely clips into position but can still be removed when required for cleaning. All-on-4 remains fixed and can only be removed by a dentist.

What is a palateless denture?

Can implant dentures be palateless?
Yes, potentially. Implant support can allow an upper denture to be designed with less palatal coverage. Whether this is possible depends on your implants, available bone and the design needed for sufficient strength and stability. Opting for All-on-4 means your denture will be palateless and one you can wear all the time.
Do palateless dentures feel less bulky?
